Inherit parent site permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to make some changes in a site collection wich has 3300+ subsites (!).

I want to change the permission settings for all subsites. I want all subsites to be inheriting the permissions from de parent site.

Does anyone know if this is possible trough STSADM or something? It's a SharePoint 2007 envirement.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi, I do not think stsadm has this feature. I guess the best way to do this will be to use either powershell or a custom util in visual studio.

  • Default is that the subsites (already) inherit permissions from the site.

Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

  • I know, but all the sites have custom user permissions, so maybe my question wasn't clear enough:

Is it possible to change user permissions on subsites back to inherit permissions from parent site using STSADM?

    Thanks for your reply though.
