Master Page customize RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
In SharePoint Services 3.0, I am using the built in Single Level Orange Master Page. However on this page, the title appears as Adventure works and the address for adventure works appears at the bottom.

Is there a way I can remove the adventure works details from that master page and replace it with some other details.

  • Yes - you can do this by editing the master page via sharepoint designer (SPD) or you can save the master page to disk, edit using your favorite text editor, and then upload it back in.  I'd recommend that instead of editing the out of the box master page you instead make a copy of it and make your changes in the copy and then change the site to use this new version.

  • While you can edit a master page as Gary says, you should know that these values are applied in Single Level Orange Master via localization variables that are set from a resource file located at:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\CONFIG\Resources\CMS.resx

You could probably just edit this file to change those value.
