Document Library Folders Are Hidden RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Forums Folks:

    I had a user whose computer was infected drop docs on my SP2010 document library and it now will not show folders in the WebDAV explorer view (we map the site as the Z: drive for ease of access).   If I browse the directory connected as a Site Administrator I can see all folders but they are showing as hidden (i.e. they are dimmed yellow in Explorer & show as Hidden checked off in General tab of Properties).   I created a new folder in the doc library and it is ***not*** hidden and is viewable in both browser and via Explorer.

    Is there a way via the SP2010 GUI or PowerShell to "unhide" the folders?   It's  not a show-stopper but is a real nuisance to my endusers.

    Thanks, Michael

  • Hi Michael,

    If  my understanding is correct,  you mapped a site document library to a user’s computer drive, and when you browsed the directory as an administrator, you viewed all folders were showing as hidden. Whereas , when you created a new folder in document library, the issue went.

    For resolving your issue, I suggest you do as the followings:
     1.Select all hidden folders
     2.Right-click them, and click properties
     3.On Attributes section, unselect Hidden, click OK
     4.Select Apply changes to the selected items, subfolders and files
     5.Click OK->OK

    Note that you should be an administrator to do the above steps.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks
