  • Hi Tomas,

The first link in my last reply contains that VS 2015 with Update 3 link.

Do you want to get the VS 2015 Community without update ISO image?

Is so, sorry for my wrong guide before.

Here is the official download link of VS 2015 Community:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48146

The ISO size is about 3.7 GB.

Here is the link about its hash value:

    https://www.visualstudio.com/productinfo/vs2015-sha-vs#commRTM

Besides, you mentioned that your server doesn't have network connection, I suggest you use the /layout option for the tools offline installation. It allows you to download the full set of files to a local folder, and this folder has all the necessary files for offline installation.

On other PCs, you could try the following steps:
    1.Run the following command at a command prompt: <executable name> /layout.
This command downloads all the packages for the installation.

2.After you run the command, you should be prompted for the download location. Enter the location, and then choose Download.

3.When the package download is successful, you should see a Visual Studio screen that says Setup Successful! All specified components have been acquired successfully.
In the file location that you specified, find the executable file and the package folder. This is everything you need to copy to a shared location or install media.
You can now run the installation from the file location or the install media.

  • Hi Tomas Anderson03,

This forum is to discuss the Microsoft build engine aka MSBuild. Since your issue is more related to visual studio general, we'll move it to VS general forum for support.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Tomas,

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

    >>A setup package is either missing or damaged.

This error message obviously shows that the Visual Studio installer is broken.

    >>Iso file is in J drive  and I can see the file and size of this file is 218 kb

I'm afraid that you didn't download the ISO image well, usually the the ISO file is more that 7GB, see:

So I suggest that you download the ISO from Microsoft official download link:

    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs.aspx
VS 2015 iso files SHA-1 Values link:
    https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/downloads/visual-studio-2015-iso-sha1-vs.aspx

PS: To make sure whether your package is corrupted or not,
please use FCIV.exe http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290  to verify hash of the ISO.

After making sure the ISO files are complete, you should make sure you’ve followed these tips:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vssetup/thread/60f71a54-506e-4c70-be98-e993ce6d1ddf
