Recover deleted items and Exchange 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    Running Exchange 2013 on Server 2012 R2.

I’ve noticed that when I create an email message and let it sit for a while (in testing over 15 minutes) and then send the email, in my recover deleted items, there is a copy of this email message.

I am guessing that for some reason it creates a saved copy of the email and then when I send it, outlook deletes the copy and puts it in the recover deleted items.  I have verified it is not just me and other users are seeing the same behavior.  When did this start to happen with outlook??

    Thanks

  • This is normal and shouldn't hurt. This is typically if an email stays in draft and eventually sent after some time. The message in draft is deleted then.

  • Thanks.

Is this something new?  I've been working with Exchange since 5.0 and never have seen this.  Back in the day I always enabled DumpsterAlwaysOn in outlook so just wondering why this behavior all of a sudden.

    Cheers.
