Bitmap for human verification RRS feed

Can anyone post an example of bitmap verification used for identifying human input? Like for example, some random digits appear on a bitmap, and the user has to type them in when logging in. Everything about the bitmap has to be randomized, like the digits, their spacing, even text style, and text font. And the bitmap can't be readable by a computer, so maybe some random lines or pixels are drawn across the bitmap, or the bitmap background is randomized in some way.

Hi, I guess you're talking about CAPTCHA image in ASP.NET :) FYI: http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/CaptchaImage.asp Colt

Thanks, I didn't know there was a name for it. That gave me more links to investigate: http://www.captcha.net/ http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~mori/gimpy/gimpy.html http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~mori/gimpy/hard/

Ugh, I can't get it to work. I'm getting errors with these two lines: Inherits="CaptchaImage._Default" Inherits="CaptchaImage.JpegImage" from Default.aspx and JpegImage.aspx. Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'CaptchaImage.JpegImage'. I removed both Inherit lines, and all I get is a broken image link.
