Detecting Gestures in Unity from Gesture Builder Database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to detect gestures from a .gbd file in a Unity3D application. Are there any example projects demonstrating this? Anything to get me started in the right direction is helpful.

Currently using the Unity plugin referenced here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/5d4970c4-4ec8-438d-822b-fabac6b8cab3/unity3d-plugin-for-kinect-sdk-for-windows-v2

And this thread here as a starting point:

    Thanks!

  • Because Unity does not support Microsoft .Net but uses the Mono Project version, the libraries cannot be loaded directly.

The current Unity plug-in does not have the support for VGB, and other pay-for-play api's such as Face/FaceHD and Fusion, at this time. We are working on a update that should have support to enable VGB built gestures.

  • Any timeframe for this functionality? I'm currently working on my masters project and I desperately need this for my scene. I think Unity + Kinect SDK marriage will finally take this magical piece of hardware mainstream. Thank you!
