Turning off .net release.in Window 8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using someold processes for enterprise package that requires I NOT install any .NET after 2.0.50727.  Once I have installed this old package I can then turn on the latest .NET.  In earlier Windows releases I was able to do this.  I find .NET 4.0 is automatically installed with the Windows 8 release and I have not determined a way to disable this .NET.  Is there something I can do to change Windows 8 to NOT install .NET till I have installed this special package?

  • .NET Framework version 4.0 is installed by default in Windows Developer Preview. It cannot be disabled as it is a component of the operating system.

.NET Framework 3.5.1 is also included but not enabled. .NET Framework 4.5 is also included but only partially enabled.
You would go to Control Panel, click on Programs and Features and then click on Turn Features on or off to enable.

    Hope this answers your question.
