Biztalk AS2 and SCOM conflict RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have Biztalk 2010 with AS2 working in production, recently SCOM agent for biztalk installed on it. That stopped all inbound AS2.

I could not understnd exact issue, resolved it by asking IT team to remove SCOM agent. But we need to fix this issue.

Is any body have similar experience? Please share info related to it.

  • Is it possible that the SCOM agent blocked all inbound HTTP and not just AS2?

  • possible, but we have HTTP input by AS2 only, so observers for that.

How I can find if that is case, unfortunately event-log or IIS log I could not get much yet.

  • You could create a default site in IIS.  That should at least return the error page or even just static html.

  • So did uninstalling SCOM not help?

Check if there were changes in inbound firewall rules. How is your server exposed to the external world? Is there a firewall/router? Do you see any inbound traffic on those devices?

    Thanks Arindam

  • I tried this, but we can access web page locally as well as from outside. So looks like HTTP is not problem. Are you suggesting anything else?

  • Yes uninstall helped

but we need it for monitoring, yes inbound traffic from VAN (SFTP) and FTPS/FTP was working well on it

  • What about your AS2 traffic? Is it routed via an external facing router/firewall?

When the issue happens, try checking if your AS2 URLs are accessible from your network from a different computer.

    Thanks Arindam

  • Unfortunately, things like this can be very mysterious until they're perfectly obvious.

Can you repro this on a temp VM?  One where you can test without affecting production?
