sql server 2008 installing RRS feed

  • hello,

    i have downloded  as my told me adventureworks2008_SR4.exe but when i am trying to install it i am getting this error object reference not set to an instance of an object. I tried to find out in google but I couldn't solve the problem. can somebody give me some advise.

  • Hi Johan,

    Did you get this error message “A fatal error occured during installation Details: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"?
    If yes, you need to check whether instance of SQL was running firstly. This setup will detect existing SQL instance (if running) and then will install these sample databases.
    Please also check and meet the installation Prerequisites in
    How to install sample database (AdventureWorks) in MSSQL 2008R2

    Such as sysadmin privileges,Full-text search and Full-text Filter Daemon Launcher Service  etc.

    PS: If you use database for learning purpose, I suggest to install SQL Server 2008 R2 and install SQL Server 2008R2 Sample Databases .

  • Are you installing the correct version? Is your computer 32 or 64-bit. Install accordingly
