v4 driver event file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

    I'm trying to get the v4 driver print notification thing to work with the driver connected to the IP port.

    In the DriverEvents.xml file, I have the following lines.

      <DriverEvent eventId="{GUID}">
        <Trigger result="\Printer.Extension.SomeSetting:Enabled" comparison="EqualTo" value="true">
          <StandardMessage resourceId="2202" />

    I replaced the GUID key with some GUID from some sample driverevents.xml. I didn't see any notification popup during a print. The problem does not seem to be with the triggering bidi request statement because I get a valid response when I manually run it through a SendBidiQuery(). I already tried a random GUID.

    Is there a standard pre-defined GUID out there? Where can I find it?

    Is this GUID predefined by the printing device? If so what protocol is used to communicate the GUID to the v4 driver?

    If there is no eventing protocol at work, what can trigger the tcp port monitor to send the snmp-based bidi request specified in the driverevents.xml and then trigger a notification?

    Thanks in advance.
