SQL Azure Web & Enterprise Editions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any difference other than SIZE, between WEB & ENTERPRISE editions of SQL Azure ? I am using the web edition database, which seems to very slow.

I am using Entity Framework (LINQ-to-Entity) for database operations.

Do I get more performance, if I use Enterprise edition ? What would be the concurrent requests for each edition ? Will SQL Azure internally manage the load ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • I dont think there is any other difference other than capacity between Web and Business editions currently. However, Windows Azure Pricing page here shows that some additional features like auto-partition, CLR, fanouts etc.. will be provided for business edition "in future".

    HTH.

  • As Rajesh said, currently there is no difference aside from size.
