SSRS License Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have SQL Server 2017 Standard and SSRS installed on the same machine. When SSRS was installed, evaluation mode was chosen and that has timed out. Does SSRS require a separate license/key? SQL Server didn't require a key and is working fine and I cannot find a key in our instance of VLSC. I'm guessing that it was not purchased so I just need confirmation that this is what we need to continue operation.

    Thanks in advance.

  • SSRS 2017 is included in SQL Server 2017 license, see SQL Server 2017 Reporting Services Release Candidate now available => "...Server Reporting Services is still included with your SQL Server license"

  • Hi KDBoutelle

You do not have an extra a separate license/key for SSRS 2017.

The key for SSRS 2017 is the key for the SQL Server 2017.

Make sure you have SQL Server 2017 ‘s license/key . then upgrade the SSRS from the control panel,

You could refer the below link for more detailed information:

How to find the product key for SQL Server 2017 Reporting Services

    Hope it can help you.
