Bing Spacial Data Service and cost RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a question about building a Bing Maps Store Locator. I was using a service, http://bingmapslocators.cloudapp.net/, to build the map app but it's referring me to the Bing Spacial Data Service (BSDS), which after reading looks like you want me to pay for the service.

If this is correct, please let me know the resources for building a Bing store locator other than BSDS.

  • Anyone can use the Bing Spatial Data Services, but you need to request access to it. This is to prevent abuse of the service. You don't need to pay for it if your application falls under the free terms of use. Note that only Enterprise customers (those with licenses) will be able to access the Bing Spatial Data Services from the Bing Maps portal, all others will only be able to access this service via the API (i.e. using code).
