Federated Web page does not get rendered from the Workplace RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

    We have developed MDM solution which supports onpremise authentication during enrollment. As a change, we have started to use Federated authentication for supporting other means of authentication than standard on premise authentication.

    Federated web page is developed using our own framework. Framework used by us uses javascript for creating controls.

    An example of page looks like below :
    <body id="body" onload = "onLoad()" style="margin:0px;;">
        <div id="content" style="margin:0px;"></div>
    </body>

    OnLoad event creates views & controls for authentication like username password etc.
    The page gets rendered properly in Internet explorer of device but fails to render in Workplace enrollment client.
    We tried this in devices having OS versions 8.10.12359.845 and 8.10.14219.341.
    However, the federated page gets rendered properly through Workplace in 8.10.12393.890.
    Any help on resolving this issue would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Sowmya

  • If I understand correctly, you're saying that it used to render correctly on pre-release builds, up to 8.10.12393.890, but is failing with RTM builds, i.e. 8.10.12359.845 8.10.14219.341... is that right?

    Have you tried seeing if it renders in a custom application using the browser control or WebAuthenticationBroker control?

  • Hi Eric,

    We created a custom application (Windows Phone), which has a web view. We found that, if the scriptenabled property is set to false, the page does not get rendered. But, if it is set to true, the page gets rendered.

    Is the scriptenabled property of workplace browser control set to false by default?

  • Please check your authentication page against the restrictions described here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/network/jj856911

    This page is talking about Windows 8... but Windows Phone 8.1 should have these same restrictions, at a minimum.

  • Hi Eric,

    Thanks for your support.

    We have the same issue in both browser control as well as WebAuthenticationBroker control.
