Data Warehousing and ETL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, a beginning developer here. I have two questions regarding MS SQL Server and data warehousing. What are warehouse modeling methods that could be used before creating data warehouse in MS SQL Server? How can ETL processes be automized using SQL Server Integration Services? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Not sure if you were talking about The Data Model. SSIS is the tool to develop the ETL. You can set up the sql jobs to automatically run the SSIS packages.

  • Martina,

I have made my #SeETL software available for free as open source. You can use SSIS or #SeETL.

With #SeETL your productivity of development and support of ETL will be much higher.

SQL Server supports star schemas for data models.

We sell data models in telco, retail, web, publishing. Our data models are not free.

Our #SeETL has been made free to stir up a little interest in the marketplace.

    Ok?

    Best Regards
