Remote database for windows store app

  • hi,

    i'm developping a windows store app and i need to create a remote database and connect my app to it. i'm using sqlite local database but it's local , i want to know how to create reote database and connect to it. it's urgent. thanks for advance

  • well there is no ado.net support in store apps. easiest way is to expose the database with webservices and let your app use those services

    otherwise you can use sockets to connect to sql. but then you need to implement the whole protocol yourself

  • If the purpose of your database is to store and sync user settings you might find the easiest approach is to use the Azure Mobile Web Services. Besides being able to quickly create a database and a web service you can also set up user accounts easily as well.
