Enterprise Architecture Toolkit (EATK) available as download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've read some great articles about EATK, especially around describing architectures....however I can't find any way of actually obtaining EATK or any of it's add-ins, templates etc.

Does anyone know where I can get this or if it's even available outside MS?

    Cheers

  • Sorry Kenny,

    1. Logging to Connect
    2. Go to the Connecting Directory
    3. Search for "OBA Reference Architecture Packs" - Connection
    4. Connect to this Program. The EATK is Part of this Connection

    That is all.

    Regards

  • Hi Oliver, thanks for the link - I've logged in to Connect but that address still says 'unknown address or not authorised', perhaps it a secure download for certain logins only?

  • Hi

Tried to get it from Connect.

Does not seem to be available.

Where else can one obtain it. Must it be purchased from Microsoft?

    Regards

  • I am not able to find it either.  I follow the steps precisely and cannot locate that connect section in the Connect site.  Any ideas?  Is it a subscription that Microsoft has to enable on my account?  It's pretty much nonexistent for me.

  • I cannot find it either. There used to be a EATK.codeplex.com as well, would appreciate a MSFT response.

  • Hi,

    Go to: http://connect.microsoft.com/

    then

    1. Logging to Connect
    2. Go to the Connecting Directory
    3. Search for "OBA Reference Architecture Packs" - Connection
    4. Connect to this Program. The EATK is Part of this Connection
    5. Click Downloads - EATK is the first Download in the List

The other Link EATK.codeplex.com does not exists anymore. EATK is only available at Connect.

  • Greetings

The good news is that I think I found the issue of why the search does not work - there is a misspelling - the correct search string is "OBA Reference Arhitecture Packs"

As I am a new user to Microsoft Connect I didn't undertand that I had to do the following

    1.  Find the entry under the Category of All
    2.  Click the "On your dashboard" link
    3.  Click on the "OBA Reference Arhitecture Packs" link
    4.   Click on "Downloads" (upper left corner)

Now you should see the EATK (dated 2/23/2009)

    Hope this helps

    Regards from Pittsburgh

  • I've been able to download EATK just fine for sometime now.  The problem has been in installing it.  Has anyone been able to successfully install EATK?

  • I've downloaded all the files just fine, but I can't log into the VM, does it have an expiry date?

    I've tried with the following:

    user: Administrator
    pwd: pass@word1

    but it doesn't work

  • Is this project still alive?

I would love to see this go over to Codeplex so we can all coontribute to it, fork it for SP2010 + Silverlight + WCF, etc.

I am sure there are several MVPs that would be willing to participate in making this a more valuable tool.

The biggest trouble I have with it is the quality of some of the code, it desperately needs a refresh.

Since this is a tool for assisting with enterprise wide reference architectures and guidance, it should be following those standards in the code, currently it does not.

This should also be an installable Site Template for TFS!

try selecting the non-feedback options: https://connect.microsoft.com/directory/non-feedback

then click on the Apply button for OBA Reference Arhitecture Packs

you will need to complete the registration before you can download it.

drop me a line if you manage to login to the VPC!
