Error Installing Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 on Windows 7 x64 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was attempting to install the Tirminal File Transfer and Sharing software (found at http://tirminal.com), which requires Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 . Unfortunately, installation is stopped by:

Error: 1310. Error writing to file: Microsoft.Vsa.dll.   Verify that you have access to that directory.

I'm then given the options to "retry" or "cancel" the installation process.

How exactly do I verify that I have access to this directory?

  • Hi Ericlorber,

Thank you for your post in MSDN forum!

    Some clarification with you

Have your user account Full Control?

Based on your description, I found the error on your thread.

Error: 1310. Error writing to file: Microsoft.Vsa.dll.   Verify that you have access to that directory.

This error description it has not more privileges access to the file or directory. Could you ensure your user account have Full Control?

You could try to do following steps one by one.

1, you could download ‘Collect.exe’, which tool could help you collect information during installing Framework.

2, could you download Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package from Microsoft? You could click the following link.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

3, try to clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%")

4, unable your anti-virus software or some security software and run as administrator

5, install Framework version 1.1 Redistributable Package

More information about installing Framework 1.1, you could refer the following link.

Then it will create a file named %temp%\vslogs.cab on your system.

If it does not work, you could refer your log files to narrow down your issue.

Or you could send your log files to me. (My E-Mail: v-xugong@microsoft.com)

    Look forward your reply!
