Get screen saver's "friendly" names in Win7? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have seen that the *.scr files of the screen savers of Windows XP have a string table in their ressources where the String #1 is the name of the screen saver, and corresponding string for other languages can be found in \WINDOWS\mui\fallback\{LangID} for the same *.scr file (e.g. ss3dfo.scr.mui is the resource for ss3dfo.scr in the system32 dirctory).

Unfortunately the *.scr files of Windows 7 does not have such a string table. I now, MUI is done in another way in Win7 than it was done in WinXP. Well where I have to look for the "friendly" name of the screen savers?

    Thanks in before,
    Willi K.
