Toggle Switch throwing exception

    General discussion

  • Hi,

    I am facing issue with the toggle switch. Clicking on the toggle switch crashes the application. I added a simple toggle switch with no handler. Please find below the code in default.html.

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
        <meta charset="utf-8" />
        <title>Sample</title>

        <!-- WinJS references -->
        <link href="//Microsoft.WinJS.1.0.RC/css/ui-dark.css" rel="stylesheet" />
        <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.1.0.RC/js/base.js"></script>
        <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.1.0.RC/js/ui.js"></script>

        <!-- Sample references -->
        <link href="/css/default.css" rel="stylesheet" />
        <script src="/js/default.js"></script>
    </head>
    <body>
        <p>Content goes here</p>
    <div data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ToggleSwitch"></div>
    </body>
    </html>

  • It was working fine in consumer preview. But when I upgraded to release preview, it is throwing an exception. Has any body faced the similar issue with release preview?

  • Your code does not crash on my machines.  You need to provide more information.  What is the exception?  What was your upgrade path?  Did you try a new blank app?  Do other controls work....

  • Yes I tried in the blank application also and other controls are working fine. I upgraded from windows 7 Home Premium to windows 8 CP and finally to RP.

    Please find below the debug information:

    'WWAHost.exe' (Script): Loaded 'Script Code (MSAppHost/1.0)'.
    The program '[2188] WWAHost.exe' has exited with code -1073741571 (0xc00000fd) 'Stack overflow'.

  • Since we cannot reproduce your issue, I would recommend you uninstall Visual Studio and reinstall.
