Help required on requirement - Create Model / Entity / Views RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm new to MDS. I have a requirement (below table). Please suggest me what are all entities/attributes/members/views/hierarchies required.

Requirement - we have different stakeholders. Stakeholder1 will only be able to edit org='test1' related data, Stakeholder2 will only be able to edit org='test2' related data. Is it possible to edit data thru excel / UI? Please suggest me.

    org org_level org_sublevel
    test1 org_level_test1_1 org_level1
    test1 org_level_test1_2 org_level2
    test2 org_level_test2_1 org_level3
    test2 org_level_test2_2 org_level4
    test2 org_level_test2_3 org_level5
    test3 org_level_test3_1 org_level6
    test4 org_level_test4_1 org_level7
    test4 org_level_test4_2 org_level8
    test4 org_level_test4_3 org_level9
    test5 org_level_test5_1 org_level10
    test5 org_level_test5_2 org_level11

  • In SQL 2014 and below,

    Entity: Org
    Attribute: Name, Code

    Entity: Org_level
Attribute: Name, Code, Domain based Attribute "Org" to Entity Org

    Entity: Org_sublevel
Attribute: Name, Code, Domain based Attribute "Org_level" to Entity Org_level

    Derived hierarchy: Org_Structure
    Level0(Root): Org
Level1: Level (Entity Org_level, DBA Org)
Level2: SubLevel (Entity Org_sublevel, DBA level)

    Security,
First, give all user update permission to the model or all the 3 entities.
In hierarchy security, choose Org_Structure, give stakeholder 1, readonly permission on root and update  permission on Org test1. give stakeholder 2, readonly permission on root and update  permission on Org test2.

    In the SQL 2016,

You can also add, Domain based Attribute "Org" to Entity Org On entity Org_sublevel. Add domain filter constrain.
