BTS 2010 - X12 - GS & ST Segment Definition Page - Version/Release Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    Looks silly ,but need to know if I am being ignorant here.

    In BTS 2010 ,Agreement settings for X12 , TransactionSet Settings ->Envelopes Page

    I am trying to set up agreement for X12 00401 850.

    In the Version/Release column I am not able to enter any value more than 5 character length,but as per the document ,it should allow me upto 12.

    So for example I am not able to enter 004010 ,but upto 00401 is allowed.

    The background is my client wants as 004010 . Although I could manage to handle this in the G8 column (which allows upto 12 characters),just wondering if there is anything behind it which I am not aware of (or if it is a BUG !!!).

    Thanks .

    Sullu

  • Sullu,

    Version/Release Column in the Transaction Set Settings ->Envelopes Page is used by Biztalk Server to identify the settings to be applied for that Transaction.

    It should match the second part of the root node.

    For the 4010 - 850 Transaction the root node of the schema will be X12_00401_850

    X12_00401 _850  -> Version/Release Column

    X12_00401_850   -> Transaction Type Column

    You can specify the GS08 value that you expect in the file in the GS8 Column.

    tpm.X12EnvelopesOverrides Table in BizTalkMgmtDb will have the information corresponding to Transaction Set Settings ->Envelopes Page.

  • Thanks Satish.

    But the Question is around its length.As per the MSDN it is upto 12,but BizTalk UI allows only 5.

    Since I faced an issue with this ,I raised it to check if it is a BUG or not.

    Regards

  • Sullu,

    ProtocolVersion Column in tpm.X12EnvelopesOverrides has definition of nvarchar(5).

    It might be an bug in MSDN.
