Deadlock Priority and Connection Pooling RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have two C# applications which are accessing the same database and same table, one applications reads and writes and the other one just reads. In the past both applications worked without connection pooling, I started getting deadlock exceptions during transactions so after some consideration I raised the deadlock priority of the read&write app to high, it works fine and without any trouble.

Recently I changed the read & write app to use connection pooling, and sadly the deadlocks reappeared, I made sure that the priority is set after each connection.Open, and it doesn't seem to help, I even tried changing the priority in the other (read only) program to low and I still get the exceptions.

Can someone assist? I assume there is something I haven't considered here.

    Thanks!
