Directory Permission Change Notification RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are in process of developing a application which captures all the security related events and sends it to specified server for audit/monitoring purposes. As part of this application we need to develop logic to capture and process Windows folder pemission change event.

Can you please let me know how to get notificaion whenever a user changes the permission of a particular directory.

Operating System :- Windows Server 2003/ Windows XP

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Vasudev V

You can check with the FindFirstChangeNotification Function API or ReadDirectoryChangesW .

  • This is a forum for creating programs with Windows Forms, be aware it is not anymore VB6 time when all programs were created with Windows Forms.

So please try to decide what kind of program language you use and then which technology you use.

Then you can probably find an answer for your question more easily, you are now completely in the wrong forum.l

A start can be technet to find how to get all the security related events (if you have described what that means for you, because this is also a very wide area).

According to your description, it seems that your thread is about Security for Applications in Microsoft Windows. So I will move it to the correct forum. Thanks for your understanding.
