Custom Category and Navigation Pane RRS feed

  • Question

  • Reading through the instructions from "Create and Manage Cusomt Categories and Groups in Navigation Pane" from the HELP insice Access 2007, here's the steps:

    1. Right-click the menu at top of Nagivation Pane and then click Navigation Options.  (This works fine)
    2. In the Navigation Options dialog box, under the CATEGORIES list, click Add Item.  A new category appers in the list. (Here's the problem)

The Add Item button is disabled.   How do I re-enabled it?

  • When you minimized the pane did you then Right Mouse Click?  You need to minized the Navigation Pane and then right mouse click where is says Navigation Pane.  If you already did sorry, I don't know what "Nope." was answering...

Is this am .MDB?  What versio is the database file format?

  • Let's try this...

    1.  Right Mouse click on the Navigation Pane Bar (only shows when Navigation Pane is closed)

    2.  From the tail select Category and then from that tail check Object Type OR Table Related Views.  Click OK and wait for process that happens to clear.

    3.  Click on the Navigation Pane again and select Navigation Options.  Is the button working now?

As a side note, the Add Item may not availalbe for .ADP's.

  • Nope.  No change (this is NOT .ADP, BTW).

Don't see anything labeled Table Related Views, either.

Has something been removed??? If so what and how???  And if so, how to reset?
