Newbie questions about SQL Azure RRS feed

    Hi,

I am going to migrate databases to SQL Azure. My questions are about the applications already created:

    1) Should I migrate them to Azure as well?

    2) If I cannot migrate them right away, I can point connection strings to SQL Azure. Right? What are the performance impacts considering the DB is no longer on my local network?

    3) If I migrate the applications to Azure, all I have to do is to change connection strings without changing codes. Right?

    Thanks

    Yes

Yes, but you need to white list your IP in Azure.

What are the performance impacts considering the DB is no longer on my local network?

It will be slow and may face network issues (timeout), performance issues.

Yes. change connection string in web.config before deploy.
