Process Class vs. CreateToolhelp32Snapshot(...) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I was looking into processes and memory, and I found this on MSDN.

This goes through the list of processes and gets information out of them. (i.e: threads, modules, etc)

My question is, how is this different then using the Process() class? Couldn't I just do Process.GetProcesses() and get the same info with less effort? Or does this do other things aswell?

    Thanks,

    Deodorant.

  • Ofcourse you can use Process.GetProcesses. It's just that the article you found is under the Win32 and COM development node and it shows you how to do it without using the .net framework.
