Does exist any limitations for packet passtrought from Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport adapter to NDIS 6 driver? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Install some guest router(http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/6.34.2/mikrotik-6.34.2.iso) on VirtualBox, set VBox bridge(it's NDIS driver) as guest adapter for LAN, second adapter(just VBox NAT) for WAN and configure router for working with DHCP and NAT with these adapters.

The issue if you set this VBox bridge with MS SoftAP adapter then clients will accept DHCP LAN adresses from router but any internet destination packets from clients will not route to guest router via NDIS.

I was thinked that kernel incorectly routes this packets to Windows default gateway passing NDIS and drop because source IP not registered in ICS.
But it appeared this way works perfectly with physical Ethernet adapter!

    Why can't with MS SoftAP?
