is there a way to auto accept Tasks when Outlook isn't running? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a group of people working with Tasks in a shared Mailbox. I'd like to have all creation of Tasks for the shared Mailbox automatically opened and read by the Mailbox. I've been doing it in VBA but Outlook needs to be running. The Outlook VBA responds to the arrival of an email related to a Task and opens it. Which makes it disappear from the Inbox.

I'd like to come up with a way of mimicking this behavior from the server, so it will work without Outlook being running somewhere. Is there a way to do this with Exchange 2007?

  • You can do this using a Third Party library like Redemption http://www.dimastr.com/redemption/RDOTaskItem.htm which would allows you to create fully automated solution that will run unattended. (The other API's on Exchange 2007 WebDAV and EWS don't have the ability to accept tasks but you could create standalone task with these API''s).
