60Hz smooth animation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can somebody explain in simple terms how an ordinary mortal can develop a windows phone 7 mango application that can take full advantage of the phone's obvious beautifully smooth 60Hz graphics animation capabilities as displayed by the Start Screen smooth scrolling or the Maps application for example?

I love the XNA framework but have quickly realised that there is no way to achieve professional quality smooth animation that rivals that actual operating system controls and many Microsoft apps. Mango apparently allows a 60Hz 'TargetElapsedTime' for XNA but my poor Lumia 710 does not appear to be able to achieve it? However, the actual system, silverlight controls and many microsoft apps can achieve it, so how is it done?
