Many instances for one app? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have a general question.

Im providing a silverlight app on my Website. This app is calling a WCF. This WCF is making a query to a Database. Now somewhere I heard that a wcf-service is creating a new Instance for every "user". Means this when e.g. 1000 people call my webservice, I have 1000 instances of my wcf-Service whitch means my database must handle 1000 queries at the same time.

If this is true, can i reduce my traffic by saving the last query-result in my wcf and updating it every second minute. But this is assuming that the wcf-Service instances using the same variables, or am I totally wrong??

  • Hi,

Am I posting in the right Forum, or belongs this question in another forum?

According to your description, your problem is more about WCF not about Silverlight.

So I suggest you post your question on WCF forum for more helps.

    Hope that will help.
