How can i delete the description field of calender list of MOSS 2007 site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Since the default description field of calender list do not have Enhanced rich text (Rich text with pictures, tables, and hyperlinks) option available.

    so i wanted to delete the default "Description" field and add new custom field name "Description" in the Calender list.

    Anyone knows how to delete the default "Description" field from the Calender list

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Hi Pankaj Pawar,

    You wont remove base field of calendar list, i suggest you change default view and create and update form for this action.

  • Hi Alireza,

    Thanks for the suggestion :)

    If i hide the defualt "Description" field using java script and create a new Custom "Description" column.

    Is this possible?

  • Hi,

    Description field or any fields in sharepoint new form or edit form have dynamic Id (generate Id), you can view html source of sharepoint page, then find Id of description field, at last write this js code.

    document.all(' ID ').style.display = 'none';

    Or, you can edit new form in sharepoint designer and remove description field.
