Accessing file share from WEC7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have two small issues when accessing a file share on a file server in our network

From a console at my WEC7 system via telnet I use the command

    net.exe use network \\srv-data\program /user:mydomain\myname /password:mypassword

    1. This works when the WEC7 systems have static IP address, but it does not work when the IP addresses were set via DHCP

    2. I have 2 different WEC7 systems (one from Toradex, the other from Keith&Koep). I have made both images with platformbuilder without any significant differences. The system from Keith&Koep connects quickly with the server, the system from Toradex takes about 90s until it connects.

Any ideas what the reasons for this may be ?

    Thank you

  • 1. Check the gateway setting for static and DHCP. The gateway makes a difference to which route is chosen and could cause net use to work in one situation, but not the other.

    2. Build a debug kernel, enable NDIS and your Ethernet driver debug zones, as well as other network related modules, and check the debug output for differences.

    Good luck,

  • Hello Michel,

    thank you for your reply.

    1. Problem is ip address of WINS server. When DHCP is enabled my device gets the correct IP address of our WINS server. When I set a static IP address I enter as WINS server the IP address of the computer where the files are that I want attach to. Strange ...

    2. Until now I had no success with getting the debug kernel running. I assume the kernel is to large for flash layout of my device. I will try further.
