Bing Maps v7 Update: IE7 Consequences RRS feed

  • Question

  • After the silent update to Bing v7 earlier this week, we've started having issues with maps in IE7.

SCRIPT1028: Expected identifier, string or number

It references the line number where the Bing code is called (src="http://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=7.0")

The error can also be reproduced in IE9 set to IE7 mode.

Is this a known issue, and is there any workaround or resolution planned?

Answers

  • Ha. Turned out it was an extra comma in a dynamic javascript array, introduced in the course of debugging the errors from the update.

    Issue resolved.

  • Could you send the repro or link of site which is not working?

I tried both static/dynamic ways to load v7 on IE7 mode but no repor for me.
