Table in Access form (fill in) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey,

I'm trying to make an Access database for a clinical study in which patients will be enrolled. I already made a form for most of the data (ID, age, sex,...). However, I should be able to note some measurments which will be gathered during multiple time points (per patient). These time points are not fixed (and therefore infenite). Therefore, i would like to implement a table with 7 columns (data) and an infinite number of rows (time points) into my form. How can I do this? Or is there another sollution?

    Thanks,

    Ilona

    Hi Ilona,

You can make an additional table to store the (dated) measurements. This table will include a field PatientID as FK to reference then patient in the Patient table.

  • You'd simply create a 2nd table and relate them to one another by the Primary Key of the first table.  So you'd end up with something like

Also note, that typically, even Test would relate to a table in which you'd house all your test names, descriptions....
