How to get ASP.NET Web application on mobile? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am new to Mobile Web Application so if you find some basic things missing please consider. We have one live web site which we have created in Visual Studio 2005 & .NET Framework 2.0. Users are accessing this from PC through worldwide.

Now we want that our users can access this site through mobile also. As currently, we have designed it as per PC screen resolution, it's working great on PC/Laptop; but when we access this from mobile; we can't see it properly.

Now we want to work on this issue. So I have one basic query in my mind:

    1. In this scenario, do we need to create another application in .NET Compact Framework for the same site (all the pages & code) & develop whole site or is there is any other way to do that?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay.

  • Hi Sanjay,

I don't think you need to create CF application to show web site, the best way is to modify the web site to suit all devices. If you have further question, please post it on Mobile asp.net forum, this is MSDN forum.

  • Hi Sanjay,

You dont need to create any web site separately for window mobile, however using Request.Browser.Browser property you can identify from where your  web site is requested so when your web site is requested from the mobile browser change the look and feel of your web pages.
