Encryption Key Management RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are undertaking column level encryption using SQL Server 2012. We have a number of servers, using transactional replication and plan to use certificates and symmetric keys to do the encryption/decryption of our PII. One thing I am finding difficult to find any best practices and guidance on is the subject of key management. I have some of the same questions posted in the link below regarding some guidelines to help make sure we think of/cover the bases. Anyone have any information they care to share, thanks.

  • You want to implement column level encryption for many servers at same time?

  • We have a fairly small number of servers just a few but we have many environments, multiple dev/test/stage/training so the key management is an area I am looking for information on. Thanks
