How to add reference of other library in .net core RRS feed

  • when i create a project in .net core then i did not find any add reference option. so tell me how could i add other library ?

    suppose library does not exist in NuGet.

    can i add library which was developed in .net 4.0 to .net core project?

    You can added it under Dependencies there is no Reference for a Core project in Visual Stuido. But it's not going to work as I have explained to you before about trying to use a non Core DLL in a Core Project other than a project creating a DLL that is using .NET Standard.

    No. .Net Core cannot use a library done in .Net 4.0. It can only use other libraries done in .Net Core, or in .Net Standard. But not .Net Framework.

  • it means we can not easily migrate anything from .net to .net core. as per my understanding if i want to migrate from .net to .net core anything then i need to write from scratch which will very time consuming for large things.

    tell me good guide line by which i can migrate .net code to .net core very easily spending minimum time.

    how to port my .net code to .net standard if i can do it very easily then i can use that library to .net core...am i right.

    please discuss in detail.

    I would go to .NET Core and only use Standard as a last resort. Code in you projects may not be the problem, but a project referencing other DLL(s) can be a problem.
