Converting a long list in one column to multiple rows in multiple columns, help. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I don't really understand how to use VBA, not very well trained in it. I haven't found the guide posted to be very easy to apply. I have a very long list of addresses of varying lengths with varying numbers of rows between addresses all in one column of an excel sheet. How can I easily translate that long column list into a series of rows with about 6 columns separating names, addresses, etc into different columns?

    Thank you.

  • Is it delimited by some charecter or just at any order. If it is not any order then I think it is better done manually .

  • Use in loop Split() function to cut it

You can use Select case model, to use in et most.

If you do not know how, attach some fakes lines or add link to file (from skydrive or other)
