Where is my Debug.WriteLine() in Test project? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I cannot find the Debug or Trace output in my test code. Where is it?

    Both OUTPUT and IMMED window are checked, nothing. I've checked the project setting, both DEBUG and TRACE are checked.  My purpose is to check the output manually.

     [TestMethod()]
     public void Dump()
     {
     System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine("Hello");
     System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine("Test");
     }

  • Hi Raymond,

    The output from the test methods is not available in the "output" window of visual studio and is rather available in the result of the test case. To see the output from the test case, you should double-click on its result and you will observe that a window will come up which contains all the write-lines emitted by the test case.
