'Access Denied' for Pages library for user with "Full control" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I must be missing something: A user that is suposed to be the administrator of a subsite with "full control" does get a "Access Denied" error on creating a new page in the "Pages" Folder.

How I did setup the permissions: (I rather prefer assigning user rights directly to the AD users & groups and I do suspect that the problems might be related to this)

On the Top Site I removed all Sharepoint Groups and users leaving only the Sharepoint system account and the domain account of the site's administrator. Then added the domain group that should have "read" rights.

The Subsites are assigned to a AD user having "Full Control"; but while he can create new lists and libraries, he still is not allowed to add or edit any document in the "Pages" library.

    Why?

  • Hi Barnabeck,

Can you check whether the users have read privileges in the Site Collections Master Page gallery?

If not grant them read access to that library and see if problem persists.
