  • Try a repair on Visual Studio.  Also, are you connected to the internet when you install?

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • I am having exactly the same problem.

In answer to your suggestion, I have been installing by running the application from the download page while the computer is connected to the internet. Is this not the right thing to do?

Sorry for being dumb, but I cannot find where I do a "repair" on Visual Studio 2012 (Professional 2012 11.0.61030.00 Update 4)

I have kept copies of the error log that I get. I can send this if it would be of use, but there is quite a lot of it.
