Uninstall Office 2007 application without deleting the MSOCache Folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • My question is the following; When deploying MS Office 2007, you can deploy the binaries (LIS Local installation source) without deploying the actual application, so source will be dormant until you decide when to install, good for phazed rollout. But What I'm trying to do is uninstalling office application without removing the MSOCACHE folder? there must be a switches or something to do. The reason is that on some workstation I have to reinstall the application in a different folder but I don't want to re-install the MSOCACHE (600 MB). All installation are done over the network...

  • I would try renaming msocache and uninstall office on a sample machine. Then rename it back.  You see a lot of people asking how to totally get rid of office 2007.  Apparently it is particularly persistent.  MS have a vbs script offscrub07 which people use for removal.
