E-mail not sending or receiving -- domain issue? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We recently had our website and e-mail temporarily disabled because of an issue with our domain through Go Daddy. The four e-mail addresses involved are hosted through Microsoft, but use the domain name. The issue with Go Daddy has been resolved, and the website is working again. Our e-mail addresses, however, are still not working correctly. The four addresses on our account can e-mail each other (both sending/receiving), but will not receive any outside mail. We can send mail to an outside account, but it does not show as from our address -- instead, it shows as our account holder name followed by "690.onmicrosoft.com".

I have been through the Microsoft automated support, as well as support live chat. They guess that it may be related to either the Exchange server or the domain/DNS settings. Any suggestions? We have been without e-mail for a week now.

  • Hi,

The Exchange Server (non-development) forum has been migrated to the new Microsoft Q&A platform, I suggest asking over here:

  • Hi Mel CLC,

How did you deploy the four mailboxes/mailbox server?  Through your description, I can't even conclude it's related to Exchange.

Did the sender reciver any NDR when sending to those four addresses?

If you your using Exchange as mailbox server, run message tracking to search the messages sent to them.

Just to ensure, 690.onmicrosoft.com is not your domain name, right? Did you set it as your primary address?

How did you set your A/MX record?

If you can confirm the issue is related to Exchange and need further assisstance about it, I suggest you to post it in Q&A forum  with answers to questions above since Exchange Server Development is not for such questions.
