HCK fails creating a package with signing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I try to replace a Driver in Windows Hardware Certification Kit (8.100.26631) with signing.

I choose "Use the certificate store"

HCK crashes with the following message:

    ---------------
    HCK Failure
HCK Studio encountered a critical failure and needs to exit now.
    ---------------

The certificate (VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA) is already installed on the used Computer.

    The detailed error message is:

  • Could you please try installing our latest QFE 009, I believe this issue should be resolved for you after you have QFE 009 installed.

To install QFEs, rerun HCKsetup.exe by clicking the following link:

Download Image           Download the Windows HCK for Windows 8.1

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with that same exception being thrown by HCK Studio.

As far as I can see I also have the most up-to-date version of HCK Studio installed (8.100.26846, QFE 011).

    What can I do?

    Thanks,

      Sascha

  • Hi,

I have the same problem with HLK version 10.0.16299.15 (current release downloaded today).

How did you fix that issue?

    Best regards

  • Hi,

if anyone encounters the same problem: it seems as if you need an ENGLISH Windows 10 installation. We saw this error on two PCs with German installations. After switching to a VM with an Englisch installation the signing process in HLK Studio finished successfully.

    Bye
    Daniel
