What drive letter for USB Flash drive under Target Device Settings? RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello,

I am attempting to run Windows Embedded Standard 2009 from a USB flash drive.  When i build the run time image in target designer, what drive letter do i use for the build?  do i use the default "C:" drive letter, the drive letter i assigned to the USB flash drive when i ran UFDPrep.exe or some other drive letter?

also, if USB Flash Drives do not use the default " C: " drive letter, what is the Boot ARC Path for the drive letter they do use?

in my 1st build attempt, i used "F:" -- the drive letter i assigned to the USB flash drive with the UFDPrep.exe application -- and that failed when i booted my target device using the USB flash drive.   the FBALOG.txt file had "invalid path" entries on every line.

    thanks!

  • The USB flash image will default to Drive C, and the ARC path will not change. p>
