The official Microsoft Security alert suggestions a work-around of disabling the strored procedure in question (sp_
replwritetovarbin).
The issue is that it doesn't seem like a fix is going to be issued for SQL Server 2000 and I can't disable this stored procedure because we have lots of SQL Server 2000, Transactional Replication.
Does anyone know of a longer term solution for SQL Server 2000 apart from upgrading to SQL Server 2008?
