Looking to develop with HealthVault in the PHR space but is Microsoft at risk of this patent issue from MMR? RRS feed

  • Question

  • There are many things about the healthvault SDK that we are interested in using but in general is doing something interesting and robust with the system leave potential for a patent lawsuit from this MMR Global organization that seems to want to sue everyone who is doing anything in the PHR arena?

Here is an example of an article with MSFT name in as a potential target.  How does that work for us wanting to develop with it?  will Microsoft protect us or work out their own licensing agreement?

  • Hi Christian,

This question has been submitted to our legal department, but there is currently quite a bit going on around here so it may be a bit longer for the official reply.

You can engage our business team directly with this and any other questions related to the business of HealthVault at hvbd@microsoft.com.

For those following along at home :-) I will update this thread with the "official" response when it becomes available.
