Auto User Log out from Inactivity RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to setup something that triggers if the user leaves the app open and isn't interacting with it.

I would like this trigger to take the user back to a pin entry page to regain access to app. Not sure how to do this.

I thought about setting up a background task, but I would run into the issue of not being able to tell the app to navigate to the pin page within the background task class.

Any help, ideas or guidance would be appreciated

    Thank you

  • If you store the time of the machine in the Suspending event, and then check it in the Resuming event, you should be able to determine if too much time has passed and can force a login.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
